چکیده

Purpose. To estimate the ecological plasticity of common millet yield under conditions Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Forest Ukraine. Methods. Mathematical statistical: determination stability by Eberhart & Russell method, correlation analysis. Results. As a result analysis cultivated areas during period 2011–2020, it was revealed that in Ukraine depend on world ones (r = 0.34). It determined high level obtained forest-steppe zone, namely Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Sumy Kharkiv regions (2.20–2.51 t/ha). Quite rates were Vinnytsia, Kyiv (Forest-Steppe zone) Kirovohrad (Steppe (1.86–2.02 Low over 10 years noted Rivne, Zhytomyr Volyn regions, which belong to Forrest zone (1.09–1.34 is shown 2011–2015 variability observed Vinnytsia regions. The coefficient variation 42.0–71.3%. During 2016–2020 significant Donetsk, Odesa 31.8–43.9%. In from 2016 2020, trait Vinnitsa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Khmelnitsky Sumy, Cherkasy Poltava Conclusions. According results studies, found with reduction area world, volume its production increases. highest observation. yield, favorable for realization biological potential Donetsk Steppe

Evaluation of proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) germplasm collections

Evaluation of three hundred and sixty four proso millet germplasm accessions were done during rabi, 2008-2009 at Department of Millets, Centre for Plant Breeding and Genetics, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore to study genetic variability, diversity, correlation and path analysis of yield and its components. High variability observed for most of the characters indicated the scope o...

Nutritionally Important Components of Proso Millet (Panicum miliaceum L.)

Proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) belongs to one of the first cultivated plants. Although the crop is traditionally grown, especially in Asia and from European countries through to Russia, nowadays it has become a new alternative crop and a new raw material for food production in many developed countries. Also changes of climatic conditions can support the growth of this drought-resistant pla...

Proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) fermentationfor fuel ethanol production

The objective of this research was to determine the conversion efficiency of proso millet to ethanol compared to corn in a bench-scale dry-grind procedure. Seven proso millet cultivars and six advanced breeding lines containing waxy starch were fermented with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and ethanol production was compared with normal corn and “highly fermentable” corn. The highly fermentable corn ...

Phytoliths Analysis for the Discrimination of Foxtail Millet (Setaria italica) and Common Millet (Panicum miliaceum)

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) and Common millet (Panicum miliaceum) are the oldest domesticated dry farming crops in Eurasia. Identifying these two millets in the archaeobotanical remains are still problematic, especially because the millet grains preserve only when charred. Phytoliths analysis provides a viable method for identifying this important crop. However, to date, the identification...

Genetic diversity and phylogeography of broomcorn millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) across Eurasia

Broomcorn millet (Panicum miliaceum L.) is one of the world's oldest cultivated cereals, with several lines of recent evidence indicating that it was grown in northern China from at least 10,000 cal bp. Additionally, a cluster of archaeobotanical records of P. miliaceum dated to at least 7000 cal bp exists in eastern Europe. These two centres of early records could either represent independent ...
